Meet and greet will help community learn about the refinery restart and share concerns
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands (November 12, 2019) – Limetree Bay Refining, LLC and Limetree Bay Terminals, LLC (“Limetree Bay”) invite the public to attend a community outreach and open house event this week at the University of the Virgin Islands. The event will provide residents with the opportunity to learn more about the benefits and/or impact the facility may have on our community. We want to educate and inform the community about the terminal and refining operations at Limetree Bay, as well as the plans for the restart of the refinery slated for early 2020.
Industry experts will also be on hand to provide information on facility upgrades, including the new Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoy. The SPM is a floating buoy that is anchored offshore to allow large tankers to load or offload petroleum products.
“At Limetree Bay, we recognize our responsibility to be good stewards of the environment,” said Robert Weldzius, senior vice president for Limetree Bay Refining. “We are committed to working hand in hand with our neighbors to ensure a safe environment for everyone in our community,” concluded Weldzius.
