Home Community

Limetree Bay Energy strives to be a valued member of the community where we live and work. Our continued development of the terminal and refining activities in St. Croix, drive economic stimulus and tax revenue for the local government, increasing the opportunities available to many U.S. Virgin Island residents. As part of its commitment to the community, Limetree Bay dedicates considerable resources to support the local economy and its neighbors while minimizing the impact of the facility’s operations on the environment.

Environment

Limetree Bay is committed to excellent environmental performance, and we conduct our operations in a manner that protects the environment. Our dedicated Environmental team ensures that Limetree Bay meets or exceeds all the regulations set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Virgin Islands’ Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR). Our commitment doesn’t end there. Limetree supports local non-profit organizations such as the St. Croix Environmental Association, the V.I. Marine Advisory Service and the Caribbean Oceanic Restoration and Education Foundation (CORE) who each promote conservation of environmental resources, provide education, and advocate for environmentally responsible actions that benefit the U.S. Virgin Islands. Many of our employees volunteer their time to participate in activities that support environmental stewardship.

Limetree Bay Scholarship Program

Limetree Bay values outstanding student achievement, and since 2016, we have awarded more than $100,000 annually to exceptional students through the Limetree Bay Scholarship Program. Eligible candidates must be a member of the senior class of a high school in the U.S. Virgin Islands and have maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher while in high school. Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic achievement, evidence of good character and financial need. The scholarship program cycle opens in March, and applications are accepted until April 18. Interested students can apply here.

Community Partnership Committee

Limetree Bay is committed to being a good neighbor and responsible community partner. We established the Community Partnership Committee (CPC) in March 2020 to serve as a forum for communication between the facility and the St. Croix Community, with a focus on education about our operations, support for community needs and to address areas of interest to the public. The CPC meets on a regular basis with site leadership. Members include community stakeholders who live and work near the facility, as well as local civic leaders.
