Limetree Bay Terminal strives to be a valued member of the community where we live and work. Our continued development of the terminal and refining activities in St. Croix, drive economic stimulus and tax revenue for the local government, increasing the opportunities available to many U.S. Virgin Island residents. As part of its commitment to the community, Limetree Bay dedicates considerable resources to support the local economy and its neighbors while minimizing the impact of the facility’s operations on the environment.
Limetree Bay is committed to excellent environmental performance, and we conduct our operations in a manner that protects the environment. Our dedicated Environmental team ensures that Limetree Bay meets or exceeds all the regulations set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Virgin Islands’ Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR). Our commitment doesn’t end there. Limetree supports local non-profit organizations such as the St. Croix Environmental Association, the V.I. Marine Advisory Service and the Caribbean Oceanic Restoration and Education Foundation (CORE) who each promote conservation of environmental resources, provide education, and advocate for environmentally responsible actions that benefit the U.S. Virgin Islands. Many of our employees volunteer their time to participate in activities that support environmental stewardship.
Limetree Bay is committed to being a responsible member of the Virgin Islands community, and we have generously supported over 50 organizations and schools since we opened in 2016. Limetree provides more than $300,000 annually to local non-profits through our Charitable Contributions program, and our employees overwhelmingly donate and volunteer to the company’s community initiatives to assist those in need.
